Acne Homeopathic Treatment Guide - acne prevention, help, medical advice and information

Acne Resolved Through Homeophatic Treatments

Acne homeopathic treatments are a day to day routine for treating acne breakouts.

Acne is a skin disorder which afflicts the majority of people during their teenage years and until mid-twenties because of several factors. Hormonal changes and imbalance of hormone secretion occurring in the body is one reason. Acne also develops through the plugging of the subcutaneous canals found in the external layers of the skin. Once the canals are clogged, dead cells and bacteria will accumulate in the hair follicles. This allows propionibacterium acnes, also known as P. acnes, to thrive within these pores while attacking the white blood cells. This process may weaken the body's immune system which may allow the onset of an acne breakout.

Acne is a term applied to plugged pores such as blackhead and whiteheads, pimples, lumps, and nodules. This skin condition generally inflicts the face, forehead, cheeks, and to some extent the back and the shoulders where subcutaneous units are found along with oil glands and hair follicles. The absence of subcutaneous units in the parts of the body including the palms of the hands and the bottom of the feet results in the absence of acne.

There have been proven methods of curing and treating this skin disorder, although the technology for treating acne completely is not yet developed. These treatments are helpful in lessening the severity of acne, and preventing scarring and infections may be prevented under certain conditions.

Homeopathic treatments used day to day include the use of soap and water as the simplest method used by most acne patients. Washing, however, must be only done two times a day because excessive washing may cause more damage than help. Extra sebum seated in the skin may be removed by washing, thus decreasing the possibility of developing further acne breakouts. Sebum is an oily substance produce only in the skin. There is no medical use for sebum except that these are synthetically produced by skin care and cosmetic manufacturers to include them in their products.

Benzoyl peroxide is an over-the-counter medication which is generally prescribed by physicians for mild acne outbreaks. Benzoyl peroxide has antibacterial properties and may dry out the level of sebum in the skin surface, therefore it is a mainstay medication. However, it is noted to be used in fabric and hair bleaching.

A substance found in aspirin, salicylic acid, may aid in shedding of the skin. For most people shedding comes in two forms, even and uneven. Uneven shedding may be unhealthy because it can provide time and ground for bacteria to breed in the skin pores. Salycilic acid may help unclog the pores and heal the lesions left by the inflammation.

Both the benzyl peroxide and the salicylic acid must be used on a regular basis as neither of these two has no significant effect on sebum production.

Sulfur is commonly found in most over-the-counter medications. Along with other agents like salicylic acid and alcohol, sulfur has anti-bacterial agents which may decrease the presence of P. acnes on the skin.

Many homeophatic remedies are not yet medically proven. Other alternatives include organic and natural substances like lemon juice, mint juice, and rose water as acne homeopathic treatments.
